ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — The Coast Guard medevaced a man Tuesday off a cruise ship 225 miles southwest of Bermuda.  Air Station Elizabeth City Watchstanders received notification at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Monday that a 43-year-old man needed a medevac off the cruise ship Norwegian Gem. BOSTON — A Coast Guard helicopter crew found and rescued a person from the water Tuesday off Crane Beach in Ipswich. Ipswich police notified the Coast Guard Tuesday evening that a father and son-in-law, who were both experienced swimmers, entered the water where Crane Beach and Steep Hill Beach meet at about 5:30 p.m. to swim and did not return home after as expected. Concerned family members went to the beach and noticed the pair’s bikes were still on shore, but with no sign of the two men they immediately called 911 for help.... [Read More]

MIAMI — The Coast Guard suspended the search Tuesday night for a Cuban migrant reported missing Monday. Coast Guard crews suspended their search at 7:40 p.m. after covering more than 652 square miles in the Straits of Florida. MIAMI — The Coast Guard is searching Tuesday for a Cuban migrant reported missing following the discovery of 11 Cuban migrants Monday on Big Pine Key. The 11 men reported to Customs and Border Protection that they left Thursday from Cuba with 12 people aboard a chug, and one man was separated from the group after entering the water Saturday. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Coast Guard returned 15 Cuban and one Dominican migrants to the Dominican Republic Sunday afternoon after the Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier interdicted an illegal migrant vessel Saturday in the Mona Passage. PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard medevaced a boater who sustained an injury to his finger while attempting to fix a boat motor near Wildwood, New Jersey, Sunday.
