October 19, 2016

NEW YORK – The U.S. Coast Guard is scheduled to dedicate a new multi-purpose building onboard Coast Guard Station New York, Friday, at 10:30 a.m.

The new building will honor the memory of fallen 9/11 hero, Petty Officer 1st Class Jeff Palazzo who was killed during rescue operations on Sept. 11, 2001, when he responded to the terrorists attacks in the line of his firefighting duties.

Members of his family, representatives of the Staten Island Borough President’s office and officials of the Coast Guard will be present for the ceremony.

Station New York is a gated compound on Search Lane, off of Bay Street, near the entrance to Ft. Wadsworth.
