BOSTON — The body of the missing fisherman who was swept out to sea has been found Thursday in Magnolia Point. At approximately 4:50 p.m, Gloucester police department reported to watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Boston they found Manoel DeSonsa in the vicinity of Shore Drive in Magnolia Point in Gloucester. Massachusetts State police confirmed his identity. DeSonsa was found about .5 miles south of his last known location.  ... [Read More]

PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard is responding to an oil sheen in the Shark River, after it appeared on the surface during dredging operations near Belmar, N.J., earlier today.  Crews aboard the dredge deployed sorbent boom to contain the affected area. LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard warns beachgoers and boaters of a high surf advisory warning issued by NOAA for Southwest California beaches. The high surf advisory will remain in effect until 9 p.m., Thursday. A large west to northwest swell will continue to move across Southwest California coastal waters. High surf will affect all west and northwest facing beaches Wednesday through Thursday evening.
