LOS ANGELES – The Coast Guard medevaced a 67-year-old male experiencing chest pains from a fishing vessel off San Nicholas Island, Calif., around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Los Angeles was launched to medevac the man. PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Decisive returned to their homeport in Pascagoula, Mississippi on Friday, following a six-week patrol in the Caribbean Sea supporting the Joint Interagency Task Force-South. During the deployment, the 70-member crew of the Decisive was primarily responsible for conducting counter drug operations in support of U.S. and international laws. The Decisive worked directly with federal and international partners at JIATF-S and the 7th Coast Guard District to combat transnational organized crime networks operating in the Caribbean Basin.... KODIAK, Alaska — The Coast Guard rescued a stranded hunter from Chicagof Island near Juneau, Alaska, Friday evening.  An Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew hoisted the hunter and transferred him to Hoonah, Alaska.  Sector Juneau command center watchstanders received a report of a hunter in distress after he became separated from his hunting party on Chicagof Island.  Sector Juneau watchstanders launched the helicopter crew to rescue the hunter.... "Correction" SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Coast Guard advises to exercise caution during the holidays at beaches in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands due to dangerous riptides in the region. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Dependable, Over the Horizon small boat, interdicts a 20-foot drug smuggling vessel in the Caribbean Sea Dec. 10, 2014.  The interdiction resulted in the seizure of 71 pounds of cocaine and the apprehension of two smugglers. NEW YORK – Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon Bay and Coast Guard Cutter Wire are searching to locate an overdue boater in the vicinity of Staten Island, N.Y.
