SEATTLE — Coast Guard crews and local responders are searching for survivors of a small plane that reportedly crashed into the Hood Canal near Seabeck, Washington, Monday.

SEATTLE — The Coast Guard has suspended the search for a missing man near Paradise Point in Port Orford, Oregon, Monday.
Crews searched for the man for nine hours, covering more than 169 miles without locating the man.
"Our thoughts go out to the families and loved ones affected by this misfortune," said Chief Warrant Officer Alfredo Rivera, the command center supervisor at Sector North Bend. "Calling off a search is one of the hardest decisions search and rescue personnel have to make."... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued two fishermen from their grounded vessel about two miles south of Cape San Blas, Florida, Monday.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report that the fishing vessel AC III grounded about two miles south of Cape San Blas and began listing to its port side. The AC III crew attempted to refloat the grounded vessel without success.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is searching for a missing fisherman 70 miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama, Monday.
Missing is Carlos Ramirez Regaldo, 33, a fisherman with the fishing vessel Scatterbrain. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt and blue pants without a life jacket.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report from crewmembers of the Scatterbrain that Regaldo fell overboard from the vessel at 7:30 p.m., Sunday.... [Read More]

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – With the approach of severe weather conditions along the Connecticut and Long Island coastlines, Coast Guard officials are urging local mariners to take precautions to ensure their own safety and the safety of their vessels.
“Obviously, being out on the water in blizzard conditions is extremely unsafe,” said Capt. Ed Cubanski, commander of Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound, “but beyond safe boating practices, we are asking mariners to take extra steps to ensure that their vessels remain safe while at the pier.”... CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Coast Guard is urging mariners to exercise caution while on the water today as inclement weather and rough seas pass through the area.
Mariners should take proper precautions to ensure their vessels and loose items are properly secured. Before getting underway, boaters should check local marine forecasts for areas they will be transiting through prior to leaving the dock.

HONOLULU – The pilot of a single engine Cirrus SR-22 aircraft that ran out of fuel is safe after ditching his aircraft 253 miles northeast of Maui, Hawaii Sunday.

HONOLULU – The Coast Guard is responding to a distress call from a single engine aircraft running out of fuel approximately 975 miles north of the Big Island Sunday.
At 12:30 p.m. the pilot contacted the Hawaii National Guard and reported his aircraft had approximately three hours of fuel remaining and he would be ditching 230 miles north east of Maui.
The Coast Guard has launched crews aboard an HC-130 Hercules airplane and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Barbers Point.
As of 2:35 p.m. the aircraft was 529 miles north east of the Big Island.... [Read More]
