Greek shipowner Performance Shipping has become a pure play Aframax tanker company as it disposed of the final containership in its fleet. On 19 August 2020, the company signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to sell the 2001-built Panamax boxship Domingo. A Panama-flagged chemical tanker has been reportedly attacked by Somali pirates off the Horn of Africa. The incident, which occurred 180 nautical miles southwest of Socotra, would be the first successful hijack in Somali waters since 2017, maritime intelligence provider Dryad Global said. Bahri, the world’s largest owner and operator of very large crude oil carriers, has signed an agreement with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, a member of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group, to build ten 49,999-dwt Medium Range (MR) chemical tankers. The shipbuilder said that the vessel has now been moved to a wet dock until her delivery in July 2021 to allow for work on her interior.
