Vessels with a draft greater than five feet are not allowed within 100 yards of the Bonner Bridge until further notice. SEATTLE — The Coast Guard will commence the reconstruction of Ewing Island Reef Danger Daybeacon during the month of April. The structure will be built by the Coast Guard near the southeastern edge of the reef, offshore of Sucia Island in the San Juan Islands and will replace the floating aid to navigation known as the Ewing Island Reef Danger Buoy.  The new structure will display a diamond shaped white dayboard, with an orange border, and the words DANGER REEF.... Paul Zukunft, Coast Guard commandant, to the Mayor of Portsmouth Thursday, recertifying the city's position as an official Coast Guard City. The City of Portsmouth was renewed as an official Coast Guard City of an additional five years. Rear Adm. PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard rescued two men Tuesday from the distressed sailboat Irene, approximately 90 miles east of Chincoteague. Rescued were Joerg Fleimming, 51 and Stefan Heising, 56, both German nationals. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard 5th District Command Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, received an alert at approximately 4 p.m. Monday via fax from Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Bremen, Germany stating that the Irene was in need of assistance.... PHILADELPHIA — Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay is investigating a ship aground in the Delaware River Wednesday near the Burlington Bristol Bridge. The Liberian-flagged 600-foot bulk carrier, Agia Irini, was headed southbound when it reportedly lost propulsion and ran aground at approximately 2 p.m. No injuries or pollution were reported following the incident.
