BOSTON — The Coast Guard is searching for a person in the water approximately 35 miles southeast of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Sunday. At about 8:30 p.m., the crew of the 85-foot scalloping vessel Hear No Evil notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England via VHF channel 16 that a 54-year-old male was missing from the vessel and may have fallen overboard.... MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Coast Guard and Marquette Fire and Sheriff’s Departments assisted three people back to shore after their small fishing boat became stuck in an ice floe about 700 yards off the breakwall near the entrance to the Dead River, Saturday night. The Coast Guard established a temporary regulated navigation area Saturday for the navigable waters surrounding the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge in North Carolina. Vessels with a draft greater than two feet are not allowed within 100 yards of the Bonner Bridge until further notice. SAN FRANCISCO - The Coast Guard saved two people from their sinking sailboat 17 miles offshore, south of Monterey Friday afternoon.At 4:38 p.m., Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders received a VHF-FM radio transmission distress call from a person aboard a 55-foot sailboat, who reported the vessel was taking on water at a rapid rate.  The two people aboard could not identify why the boat was sinking, and the vessel's built-in dewatering pump was not able to keep up with the flooding water.... SEATTLE — Personnel from the Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound Incident Management department are responding to a report of a sunken vessel and diesel sheen near La Push, Thursday. The local harbormaster placed boom around the site to contain any further pollution and the Coast Guard is currently en route to assist with the clean up.
