GULF OF MEXICO — Two 210-foot and two 95-foot vessels conduct skimming operations, May 14, 2016, in response to an estimated 88,200 gallons of crude oil discharged from a segment of flow line at the Glider Field approximately 90 miles south of Timbalier Island, Louisiana. The vessels have removed a combined total of more than 51,000 gallons of oily-water mixture since the discharge on the morning of May 12, 2016. SWANTON, Ohio – The Coast Guard participated in joint training exercises hosted by the Toledo, Ohio, Air National Guard 180th Fighter Wing from May 12 through May 15 at the Toledo Express Airport.  The training brought together more than 30 agencies from 13 states over a five-day period, during which participants loaded C-130 and C-17 aircraft and simulated medical and evacuation procedures. YANKEETOWN, Fla.— The Coast Guard rescued two adults and two children aboard an 18-foot boat 10 miles west of Aripeka, Florida, Sunday. At 11:15 p.m. Saturday watchstanders from Station Yankeetown received a phone call from a woman stating her husband, child and two friends were aboard a flooded boat beginning to capsize. OREGON INLET, N.C. — The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan rescued two men Saturday after their boat capsized near Oregon Inlet. Watchstanders at the Sector North Carolina Command Center in Wilmington received notification at approximately 12 p.m. stating a 23-foot boat with two men aboard capsized. Missing is Samantha Broberg, 33, who was reported missing from the cruise ship.
