Mobile-based Coast Guardsmen rescue man from burning vehicle

MOBILE, Ala. — Four Mobile-based Coast Guardsmen rescued a man from a burning semi-truck near Tillman's Corner exit ramp on Interstate-10 in Mobile, Thursday. The Coast Guard Sector Mobile marine inspectors witnessed an accident between a disabled vehicle and a semi-truck, which rolled on its side and called 911 reporting the accident. They quickly responded by pulling the unconscious truck driver from the semi-truck cab as it was on fire, and rendered first aid until local fire and paramedics arrived on-scene.   Seconds after removing the driver to a safe distance, the entire cab was engulfed in flames.   Local emergency medical services arrived on-scene after the Coast Guardsmen rendered first-aid and took the driver for further care to a local hospital in Mobile.
