BALTIMORE — Boat crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay, Maryland, are scheduled to receive various Coast Guard awards at 10 a.m. Monday at Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay for actions they performed during a May 3, 2015, response to a boating accident in Curtis Creek near Curtis Bay.

The crew responded to a boating accident that injured two boaters.

A crewmember checking on the station’s boats heard screaming from the direction of the creek and alerted the rest of the duty crew. The crew responded and recovered a man and woman near the railroad bridge south of the Baltimore Beltway. After recovering the boaters the crew provided them with first aid and brought them back to the station to awaiting EMS crews.
