Coast Guard, TSA and Beaumont Police conduct anti-terrorism exercise in Beaumont, Texas

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Multiple Coast Guard units, the Transportation Security Administration and the Beaumont Police Department conducted an anti-terrorism exercise Thursday in Beaumont.

The exercise provided a Department of Homeland Security presence within Marine Safety Unit Port Arthur's operating area and enhanced interoperability and partnerships amongst the involved agencies as well as focused on ExxonMobil's facility security measures.

While there was no specific threat, the operation provided an opportunity to deter possible terrorist or criminal activity and improve overall facility security and implement training measures for future use.

Coast Guard units involved in the exercise included MSU Port Arthur, Station Sabine Pass, the Field Intelligence Support Team.
