MIAMI — The Coast Guard is responding to a report of a 212-foot cargo ship with 12 crew members aboard reportedly sinking 51 nautical miles northwest of Haiti, Thursday night. WARRENTON, Ore. – Coast Guard crews rescued a man and are searching for a second potential person in the water after a vessel capsized north of North Jetty off Tillamook Bay, Thursday. A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Tillamook Bay pulled the man, who was reportedly unconscious, from the water and transferred him to emergency medical personnel waiting at the station, while an MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria and an additional boatcrew from Station Tillamook continue to search.... NEW YORK — A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod Jayhawk helicopter crew rescues a man approximately 12-miles south of Shinnecock Inlet, N.Y., Oct. 1, 2015. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Coast Guard pollution responders determined Wednesday that the Lady St. Johns, a retired passenger boat, is no longer discharging oil into the St. Johns River. Currently, Moran Environmental Recovery is working with divers from Logan Diving & Salvage to remove the remainder of the fuel from the vessel and is working to clean up the oil from the impacted area. Salvage of the vessel will be conducted by the owner in a coordinated plan with the city of Jacksonville.... [Read More]
