MARBLEHEAD, Ohio – Coast Guard Station Marblehead opened its doors to roughly 250 visitors who toured the “haunted” facility Friday and Saturday nights.
The event was free but guests were asked to bring non-perishable food items to be given to local food banks, and they delivered; more than 270 items were collected.
Decorations were donated by the Cleveland chapter of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association and the crew of Station Marblehead and their family members, who also eagerly staffed the haunt, keeping the cost of operating the attraction low.
“The haunted house was a fantastic opportunity to entertain the community, build unit morale and support a great cause,” said Chief Warrant Officer Chris Gempp, Station Marblehead’s commanding officer. “The crew had a blast and we heard the visitors did as well.”
