LOS ANGELES –– The Coast Guard is actively searching for a 40 year-old-male, after the individual was reported missing from his vessel anchored approximately 500 yards off Rancho Palos Verdes at 9 p.m., Friday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received notification of an anchored vessel left unattended with personal effects onboard.
The individual aboard is reported as a white male, 6-foot 2-inches tall, 220 pounds, red hair and blue eyes.The individual was last reported free diving in the area and wearing a wet suit.
The Coast Guard currently has a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles/ Long Beach and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles searching for the individual, along with Baywatch Redondo and Baywatch Marina del Rey are assisting in the search.If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of the individual, they are urged to immediately contact the Coast Guard Command Center in San Pedro at (310) 521-3805.
