Coast Guard, police searching for boy missing from beach in South Boston

BOSTON – The Coast Guard, state, and local police are searching for an 8-year-old boy Tuesday who was last seen near the L Street Bathhouse in South Boston.

The boy was reported missing at about 3 p.m. by a parent, who said he was missing for about an hour before they called the state police for help. He is reported to be wearing bright yellow shorts.

Coast Guard response boat crews from Stations Boston and Point Allerton, a helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, state police, and local marine and land police units are searching for the boy.
