PONCE DE LEON INLET, Fla. — The Coast Guard, Brevard County Sheriff's Office and Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for an overdue kayaker, Saturday, in the vicinity of the Eddy Creek, near Titusville, Fla.
Missing is Vincent Caione, 65 years old. Caione was reported to be aboard a grey, three-person kayak with a motor on the back.
The wife of the missing man notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Ponce Inlet of the situation at 6 p.m. She reported that in her last conversation with him at 4 p.m., he relayed that his engine had died and he was lost in the vicinity of Eddy Creek.
A rescue crew aboard a 24-foot Response Boat — Small from Station Ponce Inlet was launched to initiate the search. Local agencies involved in the search include members of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office and Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
